Maximising Every Experiment
Space experiments are costly and rare. Adding microscopy unlocks richer visual data from each sample, maximising scientific return of your experiment.
High-Resolution Imaging
The smallest structures can hold the biggest answers, but only if seen in sharp detail. Our solution captures high-resolution fluorescence microscopy images, revealing details once only possible in Earth-based laboratories.
Automated Operations
Limited crew time and communication make manual operation inefficient. Our autonomous instrument ensures that your space medicine research continues uninterrupted without constant human input.
Miniaturised Form Factor
With strict limits on mass and volume, every gram matters. Our miniature microscope delivers advanced imaging performance in a footprint built for spaceflight.
The Mini Fluorescence Microscope (MFM) combines high-resolution imaging with a modular, space-optimised design. The instrument consists of a Core MFM unit (optics and electronics), a motorised XY-stage enabling movement beneath the sample, a detachable microfluidics module, and adapter electronics for platform-specific interfacing. The modular microfluidics design allows integration with customer-specific sample holders.
Imaging capabilities include two fluorescence excitation channels, dark-field imaging, and autofocus functionality. The system supports a maximum frame rate of 25 fps and includes internal non-volatile memory for data storage. Once the experiment sequence is defined, the system operates autonomously.
